Welcome to Mantac
Following the success of Tacmin’s outsourced mine planning service to numerous openpit mines it became evident that our customers expected us to accept operational responsibility for implementation of the mine plan and schedule.
During a careful restructuring of the Tacmin Group in 2009, this need was addressed and a mine operations management and maintenance company, Mantac Resources was formed.
Based upon years of experience gained on several projects across Africa a decision was taken to place the emphasis on safety and the environment.

The service can be tailor-made to suit our Clients' requirements and range from operations, equipment and contractor management to implementation of management & costing systems. Openpit mine operations maintenance involve the turnkey construction and maintenance of haul roads, rehabilitation, surface water control and waste dumps. Operations maintenance is focused mainly on secondary operations and excludes primary operations such as load and haul, drill and blast and waste and ore mining.

Draft, implement and oversee new and existing mine operating policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with group health and safety practices, regulations and standards.
Provide professional and technical support to management, employees and contractors to ensure that their operating practices comply with best health and safety practice.
Assist with the development and implementation of a process which addresses safe operating procedures for every mining activity in accordance with a score card system.
Draft, implement and develop a mining equipment operating policy as well as minimum standards and conditions applicable to equipment.

Develop and implement a site rehabilitation program, to ensure that disturbed areas are returned to their natural state.
Develop, promote, adapt, expand and update the Environmental Management System to mitigate and fully address the environmental responsibility through mine closure.
Provide professional and technical support to management, employees and contractors to ensure that their operating practices comply with environmental best practice.
Implement, and oversee new and existing Environmental policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national and world best practices regulations and standards.
Assist to develop, implement and maintain a long-term sustainable vector control programmes in the project area.
Develop and maintain a clear and open line of communication between environmental and operations personnel as well as all relevant regulatory authorities regarding environmental issues and actions.
Conduct robust planning with all site departments to ensure integration of Environmental obligations, closure planning and associated closure cost estimates into LOM and budget cycles.
